History Told After Dark - The True Stories Behind the Cynthiana Ghost Walk

If you think a ghost walk is just about ghosts, you haven’t experienced the Cynthiana Ghost Walk.

For 20 years, we’ve been leading guests through the streets of historic Cynthiana, Kentucky, sharing stories of the people, places, tragedies, and mysteries that helped shape our community. Along the way, you’ll hear tales of murder, tragedy, mayhem, and, of course, a few things that still seem to go bump in the night.

But what makes the Cynthiana Ghost Walk different?

Our stories are real.

The history behind our stories is carefully researched. The people existed. The places are real. The tragedies happened. Newspaper accounts, historical records, cemetery research, court records, and local history provide the foundation for the stories we tell. The three

original storytellers are still spinning tales for you.

We don’t have to invent scary stories. Cynthiana’s history has plenty of its own.

Over the course of the walk, the quiet streets and familiar buildings of downtown begin to look a little different. Places you may have passed hundreds of times suddenly have stories attached to them. These are stories of lives cut short, unexplained events, violent encounters, heartbreaking loss, and characters from Cynthiana’s past who refuse to be forgotten.

And that’s part of what has kept people coming back for two decades.

The Cynthiana Ghost Walk isn’t simply about trying to scare you. It’s history told after dark. It’s storytelling. It’s local folklore. It’s standing near the very place where something happened generations ago and realizing that history isn’t always tucked safely inside a museum.

Sometimes, it’s right beneath your feet.

Whether you’re a believer in the paranormal, a skeptic who simply loves history, or someone looking for a unique fall experience, the Cynthiana Ghost Walk has something for you.

For 20 years, we’ve been telling these stories. The names may belong to the past. The events may have happened generations ago. But on the streets of Cynthiana after dark, some stories never really die.

Come walk with us.

Experience 20 years of history, mystery, murder, tragedy, and mayhem on the Cynthiana Ghost Walk.

Just remember…
