Welcome to the Superhero Summer Challenge! 

​

Ready to begin?  Like true superheroes, just jump right in!

 

Download the pdf document to keep track of your progress.  Record the date beside the challenges and turn in your completion sheet to the Rohs Opera House or Cynthiana Tourism offices.  Once complete, you will receive an awesome Cynthiana Tourism t shirt, superhero bracelet and be featured in Rohs Hall of Heroes at the Rohs Opera House.

How to participate: Take a photo and log your progress by posting at the Cynthiana Superhero Facebook page and using the hashtag #cynsuperhero.

Below is some helpful information or instructions about each challenge: 

​

Man of Iron Endurance Challenge

  • Flat Run Veterans Park - Parking access to walking trails is behind Harrison County Health Department or at Farmer's Market Pavillion, both off Oddville Ave.

  • Quiet Trails Nature Preserve - Directions (From Cynthiana, take U.S. 27 north approximately 10 miles. Turn right onto KY 1284, which leads into Sunrise. Continue on Pugh's Ferry Road after crossing the four-way intersection. The preserve is located on the right, 1.8 miles from the intersection.)

  • Griffith Woods WMA (in the past referred to as Silver Lake Farm) is located in Harrison County near the junction of US 62 and Russell Cave RD (State RD 353). It is approximately 4 miles southwest of Cynthiana, 15 miles east of Georgetown, and 25 miles northeast of Lexington

Licking River Catfish Man Challenge

  • For those that do not have access to kayaks or canoes, you can rent from The Good Life Kayak Rentals (can be found on Facebook)

​

Captain Freedom Disc Challenge

  • Disc Golf Course can be found at Flat Run Veteran's Park.  The course begins behind the Farmer's Market Shelter and heads up the hill.  You can use any frisbee or disc (like a frisbee) but you can also check out official disc golf discs from the Public Library with a library card.  You can utilize the map and disc golf scorecard to help you complete this challenge.  Just click to download.

The Blaze Run/Walk Challenge

  • Main Street Mile - The Main Street Mile starts at the Main Street Pocket Park located on S. Main Street.  Follow the Red Dots to complete the Main Street Mile.

​

Muscular Humanoid Trash Smash

  • Choose your neighborhood street or a road near your home.  You can also come downtown and choose an area to clean.

​

Captain Marvelous Mural Find

  • Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library - find them on facebook for current hours of operation.  Located at 104 N. Main Street. 

  • You can get a mural brochure to assist you outside the old courthouse, Chamber office, or the Pocket Park if you do not know where our murals are located.

 

Doctor Weird Museum Hunt - located at 124 S. Walnut Street. 

  • The museum is open on Fri and Sat only.

  • Utilze the "Find the Facts" card available at the Museum.  Find the 10 items and this challenge is complete.

 

Captain Earth Sunflower Field -

  • Located at 1640 Cynthiana Road, Paris, Ky (US 27S of Cynthiana)

  • Sunflowers in bloom middle of July.

  • Look for the 5 markers spread throughout to complete this challenge.

Metal Man Community Events CHallenge

  • Community Events can include Summer Concert Series (2nd Friday of every month), Cynthiana Bike Night, Fabulous Fourth, Farm to Table Dinner, Cynthiana Rod Run, Harrison County Fair, and others.

  • Attend a movie at the Rohs Opera House, new movies are every weekend.  Follow the Rohs on Facebook to see what's playing.

Reckless City Tours

  • Follow the Rohs Opera House on Facebook to see when these tours will be available throughout the summer.  Participants in the Summer Challenge will receive discounts off admission.
